Key Verse:
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.” — John 13:14 (NIV)
Scripture References:
John 13:1–17, Luke 22:19–20, 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
Devotional:
On the night before the cross, Jesus does something unexpected.
He kneels.
The One who holds all authority chooses the posture of a servant. He washes the feet of His disciples—feet that would soon run, deny, and scatter.
This is love in its purest form:
Not loud, not proud—but low.
Then He breaks bread. Shares the cup. Establishes a covenant not built on human strength, but divine sacrifice.
Maundy Thursday reminds us—love is not proven in grand declarations, but in humble obedience.
To follow Jesus is to love like this.
To serve. To forgive. To give, even when it costs.
Prayer:
Jesus, teach me to love like You. Remove pride from my heart and give me the humility to serve others. May my life reflect the quiet strength of Your love. Amen.
