Cleansing Begins Within

Key Verse:
My house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’” — Matthew 21:13 (NIV)

Scripture References:
Matthew 21:12–13, Mark 11:15–17, Psalm 139:23–24

Devotional:
Holy Monday is not gentle—it is intentional.

Jesus walks into the temple and overturns tables. Coins scatter. Voices rise. The sacred space had become crowded with distractions, noise, and misplaced priorities. What was meant to be holy had slowly become ordinary.

And maybe that’s where this day meets us.

Our hearts, too, can become cluttered—filled with worries we carry, habits we justify, and spaces we’ve quietly surrendered to everything except God. Yet Jesus does not cleanse to condemn. He cleanses to restore.

He still walks into hearts today, not with anger—but with purpose. He turns over what binds us so He can rebuild what frees us.

Today is an invitation:
Let Him search you. Let Him refine you. Let Him make room again.

Prayer:
Lord, search my heart. Remove what does not honor You. Cleanse me, not to shame me, but to restore me. Teach me to be a dwelling place of Your presence again. Amen.
